Robson defeated at semi-final stage of Shrewsbury

article-0-02D0399D00000578-889_468x286 Laura Robson’s excellent winning streak came to an end today with Estonia’s Maret Ani ending her hopes of winning the LTA tournament in Shrewsbury. Laura put up a good fight to come back and win the second set, but Ani dominated the third and final set to eventually win 6-2 3-6 6-0. Maret Ani will go on to play Roberta Vinci of Italy in the final. Laura needs to play just one more professional tournament now to get a world ranking – we’ll be sure to keep you up to date with news on her progress.

Sad that laura’s gone out at this stage, but she’s got plenty of time to get that ranking! And her winnings from this tournament will help with travel to future ones. You go girl!

I wonder what ranking she will have after the next tournament… a great start to her professional career.

unlucky she has gone out of this stage. laura has a great professional career to look forward to.
